About  me

Not many people get to love what they do for a living, I do “Sports coaches assist athletes in developing to their full potential. They are responsible for training athletes in a sport by analyzing their performances, instructing in relevant skills and by providing encouragement. But you are also responsible for the guidance of the athlete in life and their chosen sport.”

Hello, fitness people!

My name is Gineth Mendez-Yibirin and I have been a certified personal trainer since 2001.

I have always been active and practiced healthy eating; however, it wasn’t until after I had my two beautiful daughters that I delved into the fitness industry. I was unhappy with the way I looked and felt, so I changed my eating habits, got back into an exercise routine and lost 15 lbs. Friends started asking me what I was doing and as I gave them tips, I realized it was time for a career change. Twenty years later, I have never felt more fulfilled and thoroughly enjoy guiding my clients through their journey toward a healthier lifestyle.

I am passionate about triathlon. Its a lifestyle I have created and now my life evolves around it. I love to coach and invite people into this fabulous sport that teaches us so much about life and how to keep moving forward no matter how challenging it gets. I been doing triathlons for the last 15 years. I have been a fitness trainer and strength coach for over 20 years. 3X Ironman Finisher/ Lost track of how many 70.3 I just love to train for them.

I have been very successful as an amateur triathlon competitor. Placed top 5-10% in my AG Ironman AWA athlete since 2015. Top 5 in AG Ironman Florida 2018. All American USAT (top 10%) National Qualifier 2013-2018 / Long Distance World Qualifier 2017/Ironman 70.3 World Championship Qualifier 2019.

My coaching  philosophy

I believe triathlon is a lifestyle. Swim, bike, run are not the only aspects to be covered in a plan. Nutrition, strength training, flexibility and recovery are very important for triathlon success and is what most athletes lack attention to. My approach to triathlon coaching is individual for each athlete. This lifestyle now has to fit with work and family responsibilities. Goal planning and gradual increases of fitness to get you to the next level. Triathlon is a journey and it takes time and persistence to stay in the game.

Throughout my years of training myself and others, I have developed a philosophy that revolves around the idea that fitness should be fun – not a hassle. Now, who wants to get fit?
